Things To Do

Molokaʻi Hot Bread

Kanemitsuʻs Bakery, Kaunakakai, HI 96748

For those visiting from off island, we highly recommend getting yourself the original Molokaʻi hotbread! Their hours have changed over the years. No more waiting until midnight and going through the dark alley to get satisfy your cravings ;) They are open from 7:30pm-10:00pm Tues-Thurs and 7:30pm-11:00pm Fri-Sat and 7:30pm-10:00pm on Sun. They are closed on Mondays.

Kalaupapa Lookout

Pala'au State Park, Highway 47, Hoʻolehua, HI 96729

Escape the heat of Kaunakakai and enjoy the cool breeze up da hill. In addition to taking in the beautiful scenery of Kalaupapa, we suggest taking a little hike to Ka Ule o Nānāhoa (Phallic Rock) and learn the moʻolelo and its significance to us kānaka.

Pāpōhaku Beach

West End Mile 14.9 Kaluakoi Rd, Maunaloa, HI 96770

One of our favorite places to holoholo and collect shells! Fun fact: the beach is 3 miles long and is one of the largest white-sand beaches on this mokupuni. You can see Oʻahu from this side too. Please note that there are no lifeguards at this beach (or any beach on Molokaʻi). No laila, e mālama!

Hālawa Valley

14777 Kamehameha V Hwy, Kaunakakai, HI 96748

Take a cruise down East side. Enjoy the scenery! Mai poina (no forget), you are on Molokaʻi! So drive slow and wave to everyone you pass by :)

Waikolu Valley Lookout

Pule for beautiful weather! 4wd is the best, but our CRV has made it up to the lookout. We do recommend using a 4x4 vehicle if you want to go higher and take a trip to the boardwalk and see the beautiful, Pelekunu Valley. Note: No Pelekunu mai ka ʻohana Kahihikolo (Aulaniʻs dadʻs side).
