We met years before we ever really got to know each other through some mutual friends, and neither of us even realized it until we put two and two together a couple weeks after reconnecting. We were brought together the second time through the awful tragedy of losing a few of our closest friends and have been inseparable since, even though I told Brian I wasn't going to date him.  
(boy did he prove me wrong with that)
