Uber is the best option as the price is predetermined, and the service is safe. The only concern or necessity for using Uber is that you must have cellular service to use the app. The other option is the taxi service which we urge everyone to be aware that some may take advantage of and overcharge you. Our best advice is to take taxi services from the common areas. You can also walk around, especially those who chose Option 1 (Selvario36) as your hotel because it is centrally located near Provenza and other highly recognized areas. Walking around like any other area, city, or country, there are the wrong moments to take certain areas, so please use your best judgment when going off and exploring places that are not central, populated, or known. We encourage and expect everyone stays together most of the time. We have created an itinerary that would please as many as possible to keep everyone engaged and together. Keeping everyone together allows us to make memories and stay safe.
You can use your credit card in most places, however, there are places that only accept cash (local currency). Right now the dollar is pretty strong as the exchange rate is around $4650 pesos for one dollar. So the dollar goes far over there, in our experience using credit cards that do not have foreign fees work best and if asked to be charged in dollars or pesos, always opt for the pesos. Your credit card company will almost always give you a better exchange rate.
Steph and I will be staying at Selvario36 Hotel (Option 1) because it is hip and centrally located. We plan to arrive on Monday, February 27, 2023 as we have a whole weeks itinerary planned for everyone.
