FAQs

The Wedding Website of August Naston and Theo Golden
Question

What can I expect at this wedding?

Answer

We're a queer, trans couple and our event lineup and guest list in large part reflects this community. We're an unconventional couple in a lot of ways, so why would our wedding be any different? We are so grateful to have a diverse and vibrant group of friends and family, and we ask that you approach this event with openness and love. We hate even having to say this, but we won't tolerate any sort of bigotry or intolerance at our wedding.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

We want you to look and feel amazing at our wedding, no matter what form that takes! We encourage fun and funky cocktail attire—no tux needed (feathers, silk, jewel tones, rhinestones, and leather are encouraged).

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

We've invited our friends' and family members' serious partners whom we have met, to the best of our ability. Unfortunately, our venue is not massive, so that means we could not include everyone. (And please recall that Save the Dates went out several months ago, so if your relationship is relatively new, our guest count would not allow for us to extend your new partner an invitation.) We thank you for your understanding!

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We request that children 10 and under do not attend the ceremony and reception, but we are providing childcare; please let us know if you would like us to provide childcare for the event! Children are welcome to attend brunch the day after the wedding.

Question

Who is in your wedding party?

Answer

We are not having a wedding party—most of our friends are mutual, and we didn't want to pick and choose.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Arrive approx. 15 minutes before the start time on your invitation to get settled!

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes! There is parking at the venue and staff will be there to direct you if you choose to drive there. However, we encourage you to Lyft, Uber, cab, or take one of our shuttle buses instead. There will be an open bar, and we want everyone to get home safely. Note that if you do take a Lyft or Uber, they can take much longer to arrive in Beacon than they do in the city, so plan to wait 10-20min for pickup!

Question

What COVID precautions will you take?

Answer

We ask that everyone take a COVID test the morning of the wedding, prior to arriving at the venue. Our ceremony and cocktail hour will be outdoors, and our reception will be in a barn with outdoor access. You are welcome to mask if you feel more comfortable doing so!
