We met at the Artesian street dance in 2018 after being introduced by a mutual friend. Those of you that know us understand how crazy we can get, that night was no exception. We began dating shortly after the street dance at the end of August. I began commuting to Mt. Vernon to spend as much time as I could with August while still working at the clinic in Huron. We loved going out with our friends and cooking new healthy meals together. That fall, I decided to go back to school for nursing and move to Mitchell. Without hesitating, August went out and bought us a cute little house to live in. In October, we adopted our Rhodesian Ridgeback mix, Tank, to join my 10 year old Toy Poodle, Jasper. After months of driving back and forth, I finally let go of my fears and fully moved to Mitchell just before Christmas. While learning to live with him was a challenge, waking up next to the person you love was a blessing from God. We adopted our mini lop rabbit, Piper, after I insisted we rescue a bunny during a snow storm and was heartbroken when the snow cleared and we had to let him go. August wasn’t thrilled but quickly learned to love her. August proposed on the Fourth of July in our yard during a grill out with our favorite people. He turned “ Fishing in the Dark” on, came out side got on one knee and said “ So I guess we are going this”. It was perfect, nothing fancy, just love. Since that day our family has grown by four paws, Khalessi, a Pitbull/ Australian Shepard mix. She a handful but fit into our crazy pet family perfectly. Wedding planning while being a full time nursing student has been rough but I cannot wait to finally be married to the person who understands my soul.
