Please indicate on your RSVP any allergies! You can reach out to Audrey and Taylor for any additional questions.
Both the church and the reception site have ample free parking. There is free street parking available for the welcome dinner.
We love your kids! We recommend leaving them with a sitter, so you can fully get your groove on, but you are welcome to bring them if needed. Please let us know with ample notice if you plan to bring your children so we can accommodate them. If you need help arranging childcare, let us know and we will do our best to assist. We encourage you to bring your children to mass, and there will be time afterwards to drop them off at home or the hotel before the reception. If you bring your children to the reception, please note that they are your responsibility for the full event.
Families are always welcome and encouraged at mass. There are "cry rooms" on either side of the altar for your comfort, but please know you do not need to use them. You are welcome to stay the full ceremony. The priest has certainly heard screaming babies before and the mass will go on uninterrupted. Mass is a public event, if you are having family or friends watch your child(ren) during our wedding reception, you are welcome and encouraged to invite them to witness our ceremony.
The wedding mass will last about 1 hour 15 minutes. Please arrive early, as mass will begin promptly at 1 pm. The exchange of vows will occur during the mass.
As a part of the Sacrament of Marriage, we will be having a full mass. While there will be opportunities to participate in prayer, song, and call and response and there will parts of the mass that involve standing, kneeling, and sitting, you are welcome to participate at the level that feels comfortable to you. You can follow along, or sit and observe. We can't wait to see you there. For practicing Catholics who are in a state of grace, there will be an opportunity to receive the Eucharist.
Please keep phones away the entirety of the mass. You are more than welcome to take pictures before or after the ceremony as well as at the reception. We'd love to get copies of any photos you take!
We are registered at Zola and Target. Gifts are not required, the time and effort you make to be part of our special day are more than gift enough. Thank you for joining us to celebrate our marriage!
Please see your RSVP for if you have a plus one. Reach out to us with any concerns!
Yes! Expect hors d'oeurves when you arrive at the reception and dinner beginning around 6pm.
There will be alcohol served.
WILL THERE BE DANCING?! Buckle up your dancing shoes and get ready to party.
The dress code is formal/semi-formal. However, please don't overthink it and wear what you feel is comfortable, fancy, and ready to dance in!
You are welcome to wear any color you like.
San Diego is 65-75 degrees year round. Expect it to be on the hotter end of that with strong sun the end of June. Be sure to pack sunscreen and sunglasses! San Diego often experiences "May gray and June gloom" where it is quite overcast in May and June, but hopefully this will be cleared up by the end of June. In the mornings on the coast it is often quite overcast from the marine layer, but it will usually burn off by mid afternoon so don't be dismayed if you wake up and it seems cloudy! The San Diego sun is still coming! It is much chillier in the evenings (even in summer) than you may expect if you are coming from a more humid climate, so be sure to bring a light sweater.
We won't be organizing or joining an after event. But feel free to keep the party going at a local bar or venue of your choice.
There should be about an hour of free time between the two events. Use this time to freshen up or change at the hotel, drop your kids off, or grab a drink! Sky deck is a very close upscale food court with a bar (Understory) and also a hard kombucha brewery (Boochcraft). Monarch in Del Mar is also very cute and close by. You can also always mill around at the church chatting or exploring the grounds if you don't want to make additional stops. Saturday's Vigil mass for the community will begin at 4:30. There is also a nice playground directly to the right as you turn out of the church parking lot.
We recommend flying into San Diego International Airport, located in downtown San Diego. If you are flying from Norfolk or Raleigh look into Breeze Airlines for cheap nonstop flights. We do recommend renting a car as San Diego is a large geographic area. We’ve used Ace and Turo before and they are both affordable options.
The reception ends by 10 pm
The ocean will be warm enough to swim! Please be aware it is chillier than the Atlantic but definitely still fun for swimming. Most beaches have wet suit rentals as well.
