Our Story

September 1st, 2015

Everyone asks us how we first met. Well, that is a tricky thing to answer. Because if you're asking when we first laid eyes on one another, it just so happened to be at Manar's sister's wedding. While we may have been similar heights, we were years apart. Which at 16 and 13 years old, may as well be decades. Fast forward ten years, fate gave us another chance to meet as adults. Beginning as coworkers, we quickly became close friends. Carpooling from San Francisco to our office in San Mateo, we spent numerous hours chatting, singing off-tune (well, mostly Audrey), and laughing. As we spent more time together both inside and outside the office, it was evident that there was a growing group of matchmakers cheering for us to be more than "just friends". This included a majority of our coworkers (those who knew we weren't cousins) as well as family members such as Natalie and Maryjane. After multiple outings and many carpools, Manar felt it was time to make his intentions known. While Manar stuck his neck out, quite literally, Audrey politely declined saying, "we should be professional and just be friends." Fast forward, 10 hours later, Manar is outside Audrey's apartment for their daily 6:00 am carpool. Nervous about the potential disruption to their friendship, Audrey adamantly decided it only takes one person to diffuse an awkward situation and she would be that person. As she opened the door to Manar's car, Manar looked at her with a very serious expression and asked, "I have a question...do you want a kiss now, or later?" Audrey laughed, thoroughly impressed by his gumption, and relieved that their friendship was still intact. Over time, Manar's respectful persistence gave way to a beautiful relationship. Since then, over six years ago, Audrey and Manar have continued to make each other laugh, traveled the world, and created their first home. We cannot wait for the next chapter and to have you all there to celebrate our love! Love, Audrey & Manar
