This is our favorite beach, perfect for a chillaxing beach day! The water stays calm and there are always sea turtles so great for swimming and first-time snorkelers. After an awesome beach day stop in town at Taqueria El Gallo Rosa for some of the best tacos.
This is by far the best snorkeling on the island. We recommend this only for good swimmers and you need both mask and fins to swim here. The waves and current can pick up in the winter months, but more likely than not the conditions will be great!
This is a great restaurant in the Ko Olina area and great for those staying nearby. This is the BEST Mai Tai on the island, so good it will be featured at our wedding. The menu doesn't read as anything inventive, but believe me, the food is wonderful and everything they make is absolutely delicious.
The town of Haleiwa is historic and adorable. We love to walk around and visit the shops in the area. There are tons of shops and a few great restaurants, consider Haleiwa Beach House for a meal and Surf N Sea surf shop for beach supplies!
Waimea Beach Park is also known as Sailboat Beach to Kyle and me. This beach is absolutely beautiful and a big tourist attraction on the island. In the summer the waters here are very calm and often sailboats will dock close to shore hence the name Sailboat Beach. It is quite the incredible view at sunset. Just across the street from this beach is the Waimea Botanical Gardens. Waimea Valley is hands down one of the most beautiful places on the island. There is a paved road through absolutely stunning Hawaiian jungle, with tons of stops on the way to see different flora and ancient ruins. At the end of the walk is a waterfall with a natural swimming pool. Definitely a cool Hawaiian experience and a wonderful way to learn while exploring.
