Kersaint Saint-Juste

June 14, 2024

Montréal, Quebec

Welcome

We so look forward to sharing this day with you, our friends and family, and to praising the God who has brought us together. For us, June 14th is not just one day of celebration, but a hopeful anticipation of a lifelong commitment to the vows we will make at the altar. We hope that those who don't share our faith feel welcomed and invited to witness this ceremony without fear of judgement or pressure to conform to our beliefs. Please know we deeply appreciate the presence of each of our guests at our ceremony and in our lives, in no matter what capacity.

Our Story

In September 2019, Audrey arrived in Montréal for her first year at McGill. She spent her first week at Fish Frosh and met several fellow Christian students, including Kersaint. Prayer afternoons and bar nights in first semester gave way to co-leading Bible study in the evenings of second semester. Our Bible study lasted for a year and a half, continuing through the summer semester of 2020 when we examined, in the wake of George Floyd's death, justice and unity through the lens of Scripture. Our partnership over this sustained project, through challenges, built our communication and a solid base of friendship. Through 2021 and the beginning of 2023, we remained close within our circle of friends at McGill. From nights of Korean barbecue to Five Guys to dumplings at Chinese New Year to a weekend trip to Québec City, then, to living together in community at Ambrose House, we observed each other in seasons of both joy and difficulty. We started dating on February 14th and got engaged eight months later on November 4th, 2023. Our engagement day reflects much of our relationship and what we anticipate for our future marriage: Surprise and delight at God's grace where we are lacking. Under pressure from exams and term papers, we escaped to McGill's MacDonald campus in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue. We savoured the warm foliage and the crisp air and the kindnesses of strangers. At the waterfront, Kersaint got on one knee. None of this would have been a surprise to Audrey—except to return home and find friends and family waiting to celebrate.
