We grew up living 10 minutes away from each other and our families even attended the same church. We crossed paths over and over at our moms softball games, volunteering, community and church events, and sharing mutual friends. Still somehow, we never connected, or really even remember each other, just the same experiences. Fast forward; Cody became the sound guy at The Way Church (Audrey's home Church) and Audrey moved to Illinois, but continued visiting home often. We started noticing each other but still didn't talk. We had friends and family that would hint at both of us about the other person but God was still working on us. Eventually we both ended up sitting next to each other in a pretty intense game of The Resistance at a friend's game night. After the game was over, our brother helped to get us chatting. Cody learned that Audrey was really wanting to move back home. This led us to start talking after Church anytime Audrey was in town. January 1st 2023, Cody decided to make a move before Audrey was out of reach again. When Cody went to find Audrey, she was already gone, for who knows how long.. With quick thinking he asked Scott to give her his number and have her send her resume. The texts read: 'Hey Cody this is Audrey, Scott gave me your number to send you my resume' Cody quickly replied 'Hey Audrey, No rush on the resume, How was your day?' And the rest is history <3
