FAQs

Question

What time should I arrive for the ceremony?

Answer

Please arrive at the ceremony before 12:45 PM. The ceremony will begin promptly at 1:00 PM. We want to ensure that everyone is seated and ready to enjoy the processional without any delays. We understand that our ceremony time is earlier in the day, but we've planned the timeline to allow ample time for travel to the reception venue, check-in at hotels if necessary, and enjoy a quick snack before our cocktail hour.

Question

Are children allowed at the wedding?

Answer

Unless specifically invited, we kindly request that children not attend our wedding. We want our family and friends to have a relaxed and enjoyable evening without worrying about the little ones. We hope you'll view this as an opportunity to reconnect with loved ones without any distractions!

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Unless it's explicitly stated on your invitation, you cannot bring a guest. You'll know if you have a plus-one when you RSVP online. There will be an option to indicate if you're planning to bring a guest.

Question

When will you be sending out the invitations?

Answer

The invitations will be sent out in the spring. The RSVP information will be included on the invitation.

Question

When do I need to RSVP by?

Answer

The RSVP deadline is May 3, 2025

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

Please refer to the 'Travel' section in the menu for a list of recommended hotels. We have secured a hotel block at the Holiday Inn Chicago North-Evanston and plan to add more rooms if needed. However, we also offer five other hotel options that are all within a 15-minute WALKING distance to the reception venue.

Question

How do you suggest getting to the ceremony?

Answer

We suggest driving (or ubering)! The church provides free parking with a large parking lot located on Oakdale Avenue and a smaller lot located on Southport Avenue. Street parking and other pay parking options are available throughout the neighborhood. Please give yourself time to park! Be sure to read posted street signage.

Question

How will guests get from the ceremony to the reception?

Answer

We will not be providing a shuttle for guests. We suggest driving, as St. Alphonsus Church has its own (free) parking lot. Ubering is also a convenient option. You'll have plenty of time between the ceremony and reception to drop your car off at your hotel and walk to the reception venue or park in the public parking lot across the street from the reception venue ($5 for 6 hours).

Question

What should I do between the ceremony and reception?

Answer

We understand that there's a gap between the ceremony and reception, and we planned it that way! We want to give our guests ample time to travel to the reception venue (about a 35-minute drive) and check into their hotels if needed. Please check out our 'Things To Do' section for some ideas on how to spend your time in Evanston.

Question

What is the schedule for the day?

Answer

Please visit our 'Schedule' page for a detailed breakdown of the day's events, including times and locations.

Question

What is the dress code for the wedding?

Answer

We request formal attire!

Question

Will your wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Both the ceremony and reception will be held indoors.

Question

What if I have a dietary requirement?

Answer

When you RSVP, there will be a section where you can select the dietary option we are providing. You can also use this section to specify any additional dietary restrictions.

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Yes

For all the days along the way
