Faye is the perfect breakfast or lunch spot on the Murphysboro, IL main street. They are famous for their biscuits but our favorite on the menu is their homemade orange juice they press right in front of you
17th Street Barbecue
Murphysboro, IL is the BBQ capitol of Illinois and 17th street put it on the map! Owner and female Pit Master Amy Mills still holds BBQ competitions at the restaurant to this day will competitors from all over the U.S. This location us where we would have meetings with our wedding planner over the famous ribs and potato salad.
Bald Knob Cross of Peace
Bald Knob Cross of Peace is the first place Audrey took Austin when he visited the farm for the first time. We ride the side by side with Riggins up to the cross from the farm on our family rides. We love taking tourists to the cross because you can see the Mississippi River, Missouri, Kentucky, and Giant City State Park from Bald Knob Mountain.
Havisham Bourbon Bar
Visit the Havisham Bourbon Bar which is part of our reception venue! They serve specialty cocktails in a speak easy atmosphere. It is located in the middle of Alto Pass and you may even spot some ingredients from Rendleman Orchards.
Shawnee National Forest
We listed the Shawnee National Forest website because we live in the middle of many different hiking trails owned by the national forest. We love taking Riggins on the Natural Bridge trail if you are looking for a shorter easier trail. Little Grand Canyon is beautiful and you can hike inside the canyon. Another close trail is Inspiration Point with a climb to the most beautiful overlook of the Mississippi River. A flat trail in the middle of Alto Pass we take Riggins on his walks is the Quetil Trail.
