Question

How will COVID-19 affect the wedding?

Answer

Safety is our first priority. We are working closely with the wedding site and our vendors to ensure that everyone will feel safe traveling here to celebrate our wedding with us. We are thrilled that vaccines are now being made available to most people in the US - Our hope is that by late July 2021, a safe & effective vaccine will be largely available around the world.

Question

Will Masks Be Required?

Answer

As safety is our top priority, we hope to have a safe & effective vaccine in place globally by July 2021. Our venue and vendors are committed to working alongside of us as we navigate these uncharted waters. Our venue will be following all local and federal safety guidelines. At this time, masks will be for anyone who is not vaccinated.

Question

Can my children attend?

Answer

While we would love to have all of your kids celebrate with us, our space is extremely limited. If you are traveling with children, please reach out to us at lukehowfarwekaem@gmail.com if you need help arranging childcare.

Question

When should I RSVP?

Answer

We realize that booking and arranging travel during the era of COVID-19 is challenging. At the latest, please let us know by June 24, 2021 whether you will attend so we can plan accordingly.

Question

What time do I need to arrive for the ceremony?

Answer

Please arrive at the Queens Museum at 6:30pm on Saturday, July 24, 2021.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

The attire is cocktail. We've booked a stunning venue with plenty of photo ops for you! We want you to be comfortable but classy.

Question

Will there be a shuttle?

Answer

Yes, we have a bus leaving from the Hyatt Place Long Island City at 6pm on Wedding Day. It will also return guests to the hotel after the festivities have concluded at around 12:30.

Question

Can I take the Subway to the Queens Museum?

Answer

The Queens Museum is a 15-minute walk from the Mets - Willets Point stop on the 7 train. After disembarking the 7 Train, head towards Arthur Ashe Stadium / The Tennis Complex and away from Citi Field. You'll see signage once you get past the Tennis Complex and enter Flushing Meadows Corona Park directing you towards the Queens Museum. If you are driving, there is parking on-site, and Ride Sharing (Uber/Lyft) will drop you off and pick you up at the front of Queens Museum.

Question

Can we take a cab to the Queens Museum?

Answer

Of course, just tell them you're going to the Queens Museum in Flushing Meadows Corona Park. If you are using Ride Sharing (Uber / Lyft), just enter The Queens Museum as your destination, and they will drop you off at the front entrance of the museum. The wedding festivities will take place just inside.

Question

Is there parking at the Queens Museum?

Answer

If you choose to drive, there is parking available at the museum.

Question

Is there a hotel room block?

Answer

For your convenience, we have secured a hotel room block at a discounted rate at the Hyatt Place Long Island City. This is also the pick-up and drop-off location for our shuttle to the Queens Museum. The link for the Hotel block can be found under the 'Travel and Transportation' tab above.

Question

What if I have dietary restrictions?

Answer

We will do our best to accommodate most dietary restrictions, but we have to let our caterer know in advance. Please e-mail us at lukehowfarwekaem@gmail.com with a detailed note of how we can accommodate you best!

Question

Are llamas allowed?

Answer

There is a separate llamas-only party at the Hotel Shangri-llama. Llamas forbidden by the wedding venue unfortunately.

Question

What if my llama is shy and doesn't want to go to the Llama party?

Answer

We've always found a touch of tequila to help loosen llamas up. Llamas, if they are not attending the aforementioned Llama party, should be tied outside within easy view of the patio doors with water and food available to them. We ask that you go outside and check on the llama at least once an hour during the reception. We are not responsible for anything your llama does, or anything which happens to your llama. If at all possible, please leave the llama and any other pets you have with Uncle Gary for the weekend. We would love to party with both Uncle Gary and the llama at another time.

Question

Will there be dancing?

Answer

As the building is old, no sudden movements are permitted. There will, however, be dancing at the llamas-only party.
