Small, local ceremony now... big bash coming in fall of 2021!

Let me preface this with a short blurb on WHY 3 weeks?! Jared & I have been talking about getting married in September ('20) since last year. When the reality of a global pandemic sunk in back in March, we acknowledged that we wouldn't get to have our big party this fall, we wouldn't get to invite all our loved ones, and we would have to reorder some pieces of our life plan! We decided the big party would have to wait until next year, when it's truly safe to travel. We decided to stick with our September 2020 date to make things official, and my beautiful 96 year old grandmother can see me in my wedding dress. As for our story... Most of you know Jared & I went to middle and high school together. We were friendly, with overlapping friend groups. We both played lacrosse, we both enjoyed a good bonfire on the weekends! Jared would argue he was the cool kid because he threw all the parties; I would argue that he was a nerd with a shark tooth necklace. Once we went to college, we didn't keep in touch other than the random winter break we'd see each other out in Mystic or at the Black Sheep. After college, Jared's mom Jorine would fill me in on what he was up to in the Marine Corps, as she was one of my favorite regulars at Cherrystones! In June of 2017, after a spring of traveling, golfing, sailing, boating, and doing everything for ME... I received a facebook message from Jared that said, "Your life looks like fun... now knock it off. Be miserable like everyone else. Of course I mean that in the nicest way possible." That message led to conversations and giggles, and finally a few weeks later a date at The Essex. He picked me up and dropped me off the next 3 days and dazzled me with golf, shooting, beach, cornhole games, and delicious food. I was sold. We knew after that first long weekend that this was it. Three years of traveling the world, long-distance dating, and finally buying our first house (back home!), have been the best years of our lives!
