Just for fun, it was curiosity that had Audra browsing online to see her future options, and ended up paying for Christian Mingle. Quint's online biography had only ONE selfie in a baseball hat, a workshirt, a lanyard, and was standing next to what she initially thought was a semi-truck, but what turned out was a grain cart. What was a grain cart?! It said he was educated, a widower, and that he loved Jesus and wanted someone who knew and loved Jesus too. Curiosity won her over and Audra had to know his story. 'Farmer,' he was quickly nicknamed, and HOURS on the telephone showed an overlap of sad stories, shared faith, and strength of character. Although he was emotionally available and understood her heartbreak due to pain of his own, she couldn't imagine ever moving from bustling big city Southern California to small-town America. She broke it off, yet he didn't let her. He played what would be affectionately named 'the long game' of distance and friendship, understanding and compassion. Always, he was her friend. There was not even one day he didn't text her good morning, nor was there ever an evening where he ever forgot to say goodnight to his 'precious jewel.' How was this girl supposed to forget about a man who cared about her so well? How could she not be affected by consistent love that was patient and kind? She couldn't, so she said yes to forever instead! From surfboards to tractors, life is ever an adventure. We're both extremely grateful to each of you who have walked the long sandy/dusty road with us, respectfully...there may be much sadness in this life, but truly joy comes in the morning.
