We're getting married!

We met at a south Georgia nursing home where he was a rehabilitation tech and I, a first-year student. We chatted a few times and didn't think much of it. Then at the end of the week, as I was walking out the door, he asked me out on a date. One date turned into a whole weekend & we haven't left each other's side since. Between our goofy humor, likes of music (specifically the one song that seemed to play every time we were together - "Ain't No Sunshine" by Bill Withers), and general comfortability with one another - we knew that this was something special.

Being holiday season and the first weeks of the fall color change, we wanted to plan a trip to the North Georgia Mountains. We decided on a cozy, cabin retreat to stay the night in and scheduled a hike the next day. We finished the hike and are on our way back to the car when he stopped to suggest a break on an overlook rock ledge. As we laid back to enjoy the weather, he totally surprised me. He reached in his pocket, slipped a ring on my finger, and asked the big question, "Will you marry me?" I happily said "YES!" and just like that - we were engaged! We are so excited to be celebrating this next chapter of our lives with you. See you at the wedding!
