We met just like every other classic millennial love story...Bumble. Cody was at the Chop Fest for the unveiling of the Atlanta Braves new mascot in January 2018. Aubri was at home, hiding from Winter, bingeing Friends for the 17th time. She was swiping through Bumble when she stopped on Cody's profile because of a sweet chocolate lab front & center in his main photo. She scrolled through the rest of his photos - he liked to hike, the Braves & the dog added an automatic 5 points. She swiped right & it was a match! Fast forward through some basic back & forth conversation - we decided to meet up for dinner to ensure we weren't about to end up on the next episode of Catfish. We met at Chuy's, because queso, on February 1, 2018. We connected right away on multiple things & although Cody was living in Buford at the time, Aubri was open to continuing to see what could happen. We went to the dog park on our second date, Cody moved down to Buckhead a couple of weeks later for his new job & we have been together ever since. Cody proposed on February 28, 2019 at Ponce City Market. February had been a whirlwind of a month with Cody moving home for a few months, going to Birmingham for school orientation & his dog having some health issues, so Aubri thought a proposal was the last thing on his mind. When Cody asked Aubri's dad for permission to marry her, her dad said his only request was that she be fully surprised. So, Cody made sure to squeeze a proposal in on a random Thursday in the craziest month of their lives. It was sweet, intentional & although she can't remember a word he said while down on one knee, it was the easiest decision she has ever made. The past year has been full of hiking, Braves games, Thursday trivia & lots of dog hair. We are thankful God chose each of us for one another to live out the remainder of our days with, & we feel honored and privileged to be chosen to enter into marriage with each other.
