We're Getting Married!

In Early October 2018, Chance and Aubrey met at a bar in Aggie Ville. Chance saw Aubrey across the crowded patio of O'Malleys, and offered to share his loaded fries with her. Aubrey was happy to accept and chat with him! Unfortunately, they parted ways shortly after without getting one another's name or phone number. Chance was determined to meet again and went out to Aggie Ville for the next 5 nights in hopes of running into Aubrey. On the 5th night, Aubrey was back in Aggie Ville with a friend and saw Chance. This time they were sure to get each other's names. After a fun night out he bought her a corndog from the Varsity Food Truck and asked for her number. Chance took Aubrey on a lunch date a few days later. They had such a good time they stayed at lunch talking for 5 hours. The start of a beautiful love story!

After meeting in Manhattan and both graduating from Kansas State University, Chance and Aubrey did long-distance dating while they both focused on their careers. Chance worked for a company in Manhattan, KS as a Landscape Design Salesman, while Aubrey moved to St. Joseph, MO to work as a Manufacturing Engineer. In October of 2020, they moved to Kansas City, MO, and bought their first home together. Chance became a Landscape Project Manager, and Aubrey moved to a role as a Power Distribution Engineer. Shortly after getting settled in, Chance and Aubrey adopted their first dog from the KC Pet Project, in March 2021. Aspen is an energetic pit terrier, who loves to play and cuddles aggressively! Aubrey had always wanted them to buy the house, adopt a dog, and then get engaged, in that order. However, in November 2021, Chance and Aubrey fell in love with a puppy being fostered by Aubrey's mom Sandy. Buzz, a hound/great dane/lab mix, joined the family before Christmas. He loves to play with Aspen in the yard and demands booty scratches daily. In May 2023, Chance and Aubrey had a romantic dinner in the Rivermarket, followed by attending a Taylor Tomlinson comedy show. Afterward, Chance asked Aubrey to marry him and she said YES!
