We met playing sand volleyball at Pfluger Park the summer after our freshman year of college. We went to rival high schools and knew several of each other's friends, but we hadn't met before. During the game, I was casually dancing to whatever song was on and he said "nice dance moves" from across the net. (I guess 18 year old me thought that was a really good one-liner?? Brandon says it still is because it worked haha) A little bit later I'd just gotten picked to be on Brandon's team for the next game and then everybody had to leave early because of a tornado warning. I knew I wanted to see him again so I did some sleuthing and found him on Twitter. I followed him, he messaged me almost instantly and we hit it off from there. Three dates later I kissed him and the rest is history!

We'd been planning a big trip to Yosemite for the end of May 2020 and had to reschedule for Fredericksburg due to Covid. Brandon told me he'd planned a surprise dinner for us that Friday evening before we left for our long weekend. He had me wear a blindfold in the truck and took the long way to a park near our house that I hadn't been to before. When we got there he took off my blindfold, held my hand, and led me down a trail. He pointed to an area with white fabric hanging in the trees and said, "We're going over there." I asked him if he set that up and he said that must be for somebody else but I could tell he was kidding. When we got closer, I could see both of our families step out from the bushes along the tree line and then he said "Do you know why we are here nooww?" I told him that I was pretty sure I did and naturally by then I was already tearing up. He proposed under the fabric in the trees and it was everything I've ever dreamed of and more! After, we popped champagne and had dinner with our families in the park - it was amazing!
