Whirlows hosts a live band every Thursday; if you're in town a little early, this is a cool place to grab a bite to eat and listen to music before exploring the Miracle Mile neighborhood.
Cocoro is one of our favorite sushi restaurants in town. The food is delicious, comes in relatively large portions, and according to our friends, has a pretty solid drink menu. It's also on the same Miracle Mile strip as Take 5 and Whirlows.
Our local brewery has a jazz club attached to it that hosts regular live music events. As of March, their schedule isn't posted yet for October, but I assume they'll have something going on. Minimally, you can go and grab a locally crafted beer!
This is a great restaurant that hosts a live DJ every Friday.
FED is an awesome downtown restaurant/bar that's across the street from the movie theater and within walking distance if you're staying at University Plaza (the Waterfront Hotel). We love the owner, plus the food and drinks always hit.
This is a farmer's market that happens every Saturday morning from 5:30 am - 9:30 am. If you're an early riser, and looking for something to do on the morning of the wedding, this is it! There is so much good food here, it's worth setting an alarm.
Not gonna lie, we're kinda blowing up the spot with this one, but you're our family so be cool about it! This is Stockton's best-kept secret. Most days around dinner time, and around lunch time on the weekends, this local hotspot has street vendors selling Southeast Asian and/or Central American cuisine. If you want to go here, reach out to one of us to see if it'd be a good time to go. It's our favorite spot to get Lao beef sticks, sticky rice, and papaya salad for under $10. It is cash only though, so come prepared.
In Aubrey's opinion, this is the best meat market in Stockton. There's a hot bar where you can order almost any Mexican food you can imagine, and a bakery where the pan dulce is cooked fresh every morning.
By far the best barbecue in town; we eat here all the time! The owner is an amazing guy, and the food is top-notch. It's a super casual spot on Yosemite Ave (another fun strip of local businesses, like Miracle Mile) that took over a historic meat market.
Kristy's favorite restaurant in town, Green Papaya, was featured in 2016 on Food Network's "Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives" with Guy Fieri. They're serving up all your favorite Lao and Thai favorite dishes such Kao Piek, Kao Poon, Nam Khao, Spicy Lao Sausages, Sticky Rice, Papaya Salad, Pad Thai, Drunken Noodles and much more.
Enjoy a laid-back dinner on the water with one of the best views in Stockton. GBs has a fun atmosphere, a lengthy drink menu, and tons of different food.
This is one of our local farmers' markets that happens every Sunday. Swing by to grab a bite to eat before you head back home!
