Owens Field Park. A day after matching on Hinge, Jonathan invited Aubrey to play a round of disc golf, his favorite pastime. Aubrey had never played, but thought it would be fun to try a new activity. It was a beautiful 80-degree February day. Jonathan played one of the best disc golf rounds of his life, trying to impress Aubrey, while she embarrassed herself by throwing the disc 10 feet at a time. But they talked and laughed through all 21 holes. Neither of them wanted the date to end, so they got dinner: ramen at Menkoi. Somehow, Jonathan and Aubrey both ended up getting sick from the date (Aubrey from allergies and Jonathan from a bug), but neither of them cared because they both just had the best date of their lives <3

Crystal Cove State Park. Anyone who knows Jonathan knows that he cannot keep a secret from Aubrey, so she knew when he had the ring, but she did not know when to expect the proposal. She thought maybe he would plant it as a Christmas present or do it at a Christmas market, so she was always prepared, just in case. He knew how special it would be for her family to be there when he got down on one knee, so he planned to do it during their family trip to California. Every day she kept expecting it to happen, and it didn't, until finally it was their last day. The sun was shining, and Jonathan suggested a walk at the beach... Aubrey knew it was finally happening. They walked along the beach, with her family falling farther and father back, making it clear what was about to happen. Both of their hearts were pounding when he finally got down on one knee with tears in his eyes and asked her to spend the rest of their lives together. It was the easiest yes of her life. They then enjoyed celebrating the rest of the day with her family before heading home.
