Travel from Montrose airport to Silverton is about 1 hour and 30 minutes. You can book transportation service to and from the destination or you can rent a car. If you choose to rent a car and drive from this location, please keep in mind you will be traveling along the "million dollar highway" from Ouray to Silverton. It is a scenic mountain pass that travels through the San Juan Mountains and has some areas with steep drop off with no guardrails. This may be nerve wracking to some, especially at night time, but as long as you stay on the road you are good :) If this worries you, I suggest booking transportation to have someone drive or flying into Durango!
