On November 7th, 2020, our 11th anniversary, surrounded by our families and closest friends we tied the knot! We are so happy to finally be married but don't worry, we're saving the party for you! Hoping we can all come together safely on November 19th, 2021 for a long awaited wedding celebration! With love, Mr. & Mrs. Galati
The year was 2007. The Spice Girls did a reunion tour, the Harry Potter saga came to a bittersweet end, and somewhere in Queens, a 15-year-old sophomore from The Mary Louis Academy and a 16-year-old junior from Holy Cross High School locked eyes at their mutual friend’s basement kickback. Were there Coors Light? Probably. Was someone quoting the latest Apatow flick, ‘Superbad’? Most likely. Did two people exchange AIM screen names with the person they were going to spend the rest of their lives with? Surprisingly, yes! 10 years, six schools, and a handful of degrees later, these teenage lovebirds transformed themselves into fully-functioning adult professionals and are more in love than ever.
Kim and Mike were strolling along the Long Island City waterfront digesting their respective brunch selections (if the author had to guess, something with bacon and pancakes). As they walked, Kim pointed out another couple who were taking engagement photos by the Pepsi-Cola sign. Suprisingly, Mike rolled his eyes at the couple, declaring that he would never select the Queens' landmark as the location for anything involving his engagement. Little did Kim know that at that very moment, Mike was palming a custom diamond ring (that took four months to create!) in his jacket pocket. As the couple approached the edge of the boardwalk, Mike asked that Kim take a few photos of him. Puzzled, but supportive, Kim snapped away as Mike posed for the iPhone. After a couple glamour shots, Mike requested that Kim turn around and take a photo of herself with him in the background. She agreed, but when she turned around, she saw in the phone screen reflection that Mike was bent on one knee, asking her to marry him. And lucky for the rest of us, a kind stranger snapped photos of the whole thing. Written By: Jackie Rae Aubel Sister, Writer, Comedian, Maid of Honor
