FAQs

Question

Why the two-day schedule?

Answer

We are having a very small ceremony on Saturday evening, but wanted a chance to celebrate with more of our loved ones too. Hence, we're having a party on Sunday afternoon!

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Saturday: We're imagining a semi-formal dress code, where people have some room to express themselves. Sunday: Festive/semi-formal attire recommended - we're not afraid of color and patterns for this day especially!

Question

Will the events be inside or outside?

Answer

The ceremony and reception (Saturday) will take place in a covered outdoor setting, so prepare accordingly by bringing a jacket or sweater in case it's chilly! Temperatures can vary a lot in May, but it's likely to be around 60-70 degrees. The post-wedding party (Sunday) will be mostly indoors but with an open facade, so a jacket or sweater may end up being helpful that day as well.

Question

What time should I arrive for the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony (Saturday) will begin at 5:30 PM. Please aim to show up just a few minutes ahead to be safe. If you are taking the subway, please account for extra time due to potential delays.

Question

Can I take photos or video during the ceremony?

Answer

We would prefer to not have phones/cameras out at all during the ceremony. Our photographer will be capturing the moment, and we prefer those photos don't have any phones visible. As for the reception and Sunday party, that's all fair game and we'd love for everyone to take photos!

Question

What kind of accommodations do you recommend?

Answer

We recommend to book a room in a hotel as early as you can, as they can get very expensive in New York! If you're hoping to take public transit, we recommend to stay somewhere near a G train stop. We have included a few suggested hotels for reference in the "Travel" section of our website that are within a neighborhood or two of the events.

Question

What health and safety measures are being taken?

Answer

Our ceremony/reception (Saturday) space is covered but outdoors, so the space will have good air movement. Our party (Sunday) space is indoors but will have the front facade open for ventilation. We strongly recommend that all attendees get vaccinated ahead of our event and take a COVID test before traveling to New York, as both a measure of respect for those who are immunocompromised and to protect yourself. We will understand if you are unable to attend due to being sick, we strongly prefer to keep everybody safe.

Question

If I'm unable to physically attend, can I still see the wedding?

Answer

We are planning to set up a virtual component so a variety of people can tune into the wedding ceremony from afar! More info soon.

Question

How will you communicate any change of plans?

Answer

Should there be any changes to the wedding plan, we will send updates via email.
