We're getting married!!

Danny and Chelsea met in Nashville, TN in 2016 when Danny started his residency in Psychiatry and Chelsea started working as a social worker at Vanderbilt. Danny joined Chelsea’s team for a month rotation where they quickly learned that the Michigan - Ohio State rivalry existed between them and chose to stay friends anyway. Learning their birthdays were a day apart and that they both loved Bell’s Two Hearted helped solidify the friendship.

As they spent more time together, it became clear to Chelsea and Danny they could be best friends. It became clear to most everyone else it was love, but they were too busy having Nashville as their playground - bar hopping on Broadway, going to concerts, joining bowling and volleyball leagues, and eating too hot of chicken (Danny) at Party Fowl and too many fried mac and cheese bites (Chelsea) at Burger Up. They enjoyed their joint birthday parties every June renting pontoon boats on Percy Priest Lake with friends, sunshine, inflatable tubes and, of course, Two Hearteds.

When Covid hit and the world shut down, all the distractions in Nashville shut down with it. That left Danny and Chelsea plenty of time to realize what everyone else already knew. They spent weekends enjoying local parks, went through a serious puzzle phase, played many games of Yahtzee, and would often day dream of future travel. Then Danny graduated residency, started working as a travel doctor, and they have since explored and lived in Montana, Oregon, Alaska, California, and Massachusetts.

So they went with a pump fake trip to Africa in February. For those who were taking bets, Chelsea asked Danny not to propose so they could be totally present and soak in each and every moment of this once in a lifetime trip. Their ability to be together forever was really sealed when Chelsea looked at Danny mid-stay at Giraffe Manor and said “ok fine, it would’ve been cool to get engaged here” and he somehow didn’t lose his mind. But like most things Chelsea and Danny, it happened later than we all expected and ended up being even more special. Danny planned a weekend doing what they love most — roadtripping to a new state and going for a hike that ends up being much harder than they thought. At the top of the mountain, Danny surprised Chelsea with a proposal and Two Hearteds to celebrate! Chelsea said “definitely.” A few months later, Chelsea planned another adventure to explore fall in New England where she proposed to Danny. He said "of course!" They can’t wait to celebrate birthdays together forever, and add one more celebration in June — their wedding!
