Our love story was quite unexpected. Casey had been preparing for months to lead a ministry experience trip for high school students interested in pursuing vocational ministry. Meghan had been praying for a path to ministry after making the decision to step away from teaching. The trip was short a female leader and Meghan decided (with 10 days notice) to join the team. After 3 weeks of nonstop ministry, overseeing a group of 14 teenagers, a few disagreements, bible study, and a lot of laughter - we realized there could be something more beyond this trip. We spent the rest of the summer getting to know each other more as friends and having our first dates in Cleveland and Pittsburgh. In September 2023, we made it official during Casey's first trip to Philly. Over the next year we took turns flying back and forth to each other, making the most of long distance dating. We were able to stay with friends in each other's cities and create incredible memories with each adventure. In August 2024, Casey got the green light from Meghan to ask the big question. October 17th, Casey brought Meghan to a beautiful park and arboretum and asked her to spend the rest of their lives together. It was an easy yes for Meghan, as she had long ago decided that she would marry Casey. It was more of a waiting for the "right time." We have spent the last few months eagerly planning for our wedding day and praying earnestly for wisdom and direction of where to land together as a couple. We're looking forward to celebrating our love with all of you and starting a new chapter of our lives - or a new leg of the race - together this fall.
