Question

How should I RSVP?

Answer

To RSVP, go to the RSVP page on this website. Please submit your RSVP by January 2027 so we can plan accordingly!

Question

What if I'm not able to make it to Tanzania?

Answer

We understand this is a big commitment and truly appreciate you being apart of our special moments. If you’re unable to attend, we’d still love to celebrate with you in Dallas after we return. Details are still being finalized, so please check the website for updates.

Question

Is USD accepted?

Answer

Yes, USD is accepted in many hotels, lodges, and for pre-arranged services. However, for most everyday purchases (restaurants, rides, small shops), you will need Tanzanian Shillings (TSH). If you plan to exchange money, please bring newer USD 100 bills typically receive the best exchange rate. We will provide opportunities to exchange currency upon arrival in Dar es Salaam. Please feel free to reach out with any additional questions regarding currency!

Question

How long should I plan to stay for?

Answer

We appreciate the effort and investment it takes for our loved ones to join us for our wedding celebration. We warmly invite you to stay as long as possible, and we especially encourage guests to plan for at least 10 days to fully enjoy the experience and spend quality time together.

Question

Will I have to know the language (Swahili) to get around?

Answer

Most guests will be staying in the city center so you should be fine, however if you would like a guide then that can be arranged with proper notice beforehand!

Question

Is it safe?

Answer

Yes, Tanzania is generally safe, especially in the areas we’ll be visiting. The people are incredibly warm and welcoming, and we’re excited for you to experience the culture with us! As with any international travel, it’s best to take basic precautions—stick with groups when possible, be mindful of your surroundings, and let someone know your plans if you’re heading out on your own.

Question

How will I get around? Should I rent a car?

Answer

Getting around is fairly easy; ride apps like Uber are available in Dar, and transportation can also be arranged through hotels. In most areas, it’s common to walk as well. We’re also happy to help coordinate transportation for you with a bit of advance notice. We don’t recommend renting a car in Dar, as traffic and local driving conditions can be challenging.

Question

Will you be able to help us find accommodation

Answer

Yes, absolutely! When you RSVP, please include the number of guests, length of stay, and the approximate ages of guests at the time of the trip. We will do our best to find suitable accommodation for you all.
