We didn’t exactly hit it off right away... actually, we bickered at first! We both started Leaders Academy at the same time and somehow we always found ourselves disagreeing, teasing, or playfully challenging each other. But somewhere between the banter, we found a real connection. We joined the same worship track and became worship buddies, serving and growing together in ways we never expected. We even helped plan worship and prayer nights, and that shared time made space for something deeper to begin forming—though neither of us admitted it at first. Before we realized we had feelings for each other, he asked me to the Valentine’s Day dance as friends (emphasis on the friends). But his sweet gestures, kind heart, and incredible cooking started giving him away. Slowly, we realized this was more than just a friendship. Even though we weren’t allowed to date during the internship, we practiced self-control and waited. And once we graduated—he asked me out. The rest is history, written with prayer, patience, and a lot of laughter.
