Glenwood Hot Springs Pool
The world's largest hot spring pool. The first pool was completed in 1888 and now boasts a fancy "white water rafting tube ride" that will probably not be open at the end of September. Lauren used to work here.
Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park
Sitting at 7001 ft above sea level, Glenwood Caverns has gondolas! Caves! Rides! Laser Tag! A Rock Shop! These caves are much less hot than the Yampah caves.
Yampah Spa & Salon
Drawing from the same hot springs as the Hot Springs Pool, these caves are hot! Hot! Hot!
Doc Holliday's Grave Trailhead
Where is he actually buried? Apparently only one person knows but won't tell. Anyway, steep climb and afterwards you can go to Doc Holiday's Saloon for refreshments.
Sweet Coloradough
The best doughnuts. Get there early or they sell out!
Grind
Some of the best burgers around! And their black bean burger is Lauren's favourite.
New Castle Coffee
Unassuming coffee shop located in a strip mall in New Castle. We tried this place out during our visit in November 2021 and then spent the next week and a half visiting every morning. We loved it so much it was our last stop before we left. They serve Sweet Coloradough donuts, so if you miss out at the main shop New Castle Coffee usually has some from their delivery.
Glenwood Canyon Brewpub
A local brewing company open since 1996 and serves some of the only beer Lauren has actually enjoyed drinking!
Rifle Falls State Park
We're just trying to get you outside to see leaves while the weather is still (hopefully) nice. Rifle Falls has a triple 70 ft water fall that is pretty cool, it has a hiking trail that goes up and around the falls.
