We met at a family friend's holiday party back in 2017 and instantly became friends. After that night, we didn't talk much for about 2 years, until the summer of 2019. I had gone to see a movie with my family, when we were leaving the theater, I saw somebody that I recognized. It was him, I had totally forgotten he worked at the theatre. We talked for a few minutes before I had to leave, but after seeing Jake again, we started talking every day. On September 25, 2019, Jake texted me and asked if I wanted to come over and hang out with him and his friends and go swimming. I, of course, said yes, so he picked me up, and it was like no time had passed. On the drive there, we talked like we had known each other forever. Weeks went by of us hanging out with each other, when one day, we were sitting in a pool surrounded by friends, when he turned to me and asked me to be his girlfriend. Funny enough, when it happened, I was in my own little world playing around in the pool. So I looked at him and said, "Right now?" He said, "Yes, right now." Then I said, "Yes." Then, 6 years later, on October 27, 2025, we were lounging around our apartment, eating dinner, and watching TV. That's when it happened, the moment I had only ever dreamed of. He popped the big question. It happened in what I now think is the best way. In the comfort of our own home, with our cats as witnesses. Here's to forever.
