The story all starts seven years ago when a mutual friend of Nicole and cousin of Peter played Cupid prior to an engagement party they were both attending. Miraculously they had never crossed paths, despite the fact they had both grown up in the same community. The engagement party was in full-swing and Peter caught Nicole's eye as he whooshed in fashionably late to the party. Nicole's heart raced as she went to get reassurance from their mutual connection. Nicole decided this confident-looking-boy was cute and decided to tempt him into grabbing a drink with her. They spent the rest of night drinking, dancing, laughing, and getting to know each other until the end of the party when he asked for her number. Until this point, Peter had always preferred to be called Pete, but Nicole saved his number under "Peter". Now, he prefers to be called Peter which is an initial testament to how much Nicole and Peter have shaped eachothers lives. After kicking it off at the engagement party, Nicole and Peter swiftly jumped into dating. About a year and a half into their relationship, Peter jetted off to Nashville to pursue his Bachelor's in Music Business Management. They communicated during this time via facetime while watching their favorite movies and surprised each other with food and care packages on the weekly. Even with the distance, Nicole and Peter found ways to grow their relationship. They rescued and fostered two cats, Boo and Salem. They made it a point to plan trips on the regular, like exploring the soul in New Orleans, getting weird in Portland, meeting Peter's extended family in Chicago, taking a cruise to Baja Mexico...and as we all know-- a million trips to Disneyland!

Two years after graduation, Peter knew that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Nicole. On July 13, 2019, Peter orchestrated a huge production for their proposal. Peter had told Nicole that he wanted her to accompany him to a dinner with his parents that night. In true Nicole fashion, she was initially reluctant to go, but as soon as she heard that it was at a winery, she was happy to join. On the way to the winery, Nicole's dress strap broke and they had to make a detour to buy a sewing kit for her dress. After the slight delay and quick patchwork by Nicole, they made their way into the winery's main house entrance (as the owners are mutual friends of Peter's parents). Nestled a bit into the vineyard was a table. Nicole curiously walked ahead of Peter towards the illusive table with its shimmery tablecloth and beautiful flower arrangements to take a deeper look. As she glanced back, she sees Peter on one knee and immediately starts crying with joy. Clearly, she said yes! Little did Nicole know, Peter had rented out the whole winery, and had told both their friends and families to surprise her on the other side of the winery after the proposal.
