FAQs

The Wedding Website of Ateia Green and Patrick Patterson
We’re looking forward to celebrating our wedding day in beautiful San Francisco with the people who mean the most to us. As we prepare for our intimate ceremony at San Francisco City Hall, we’ve included helpful details below to assist you as you plan for the celebration and your time in the city. We can’t wait to share this special experience with you.
Question

Why San Francisco City Hall?

Answer

San Francisco City Hall is one of the most beautiful civic buildings in the country, known for its stunning marble architecture and timeless elegance. We chose this location because it creates the perfect setting for an intimate ceremony surrounded by the people who mean the most to us. After getting engaged in beautiful St. Lucia, we loved the idea of continuing our journey in another memorable destination. San Francisco felt like the perfect place to gather our closest family and friends, celebrate our marriage, and create new memories together in a city we’re excited to experience.

Question

What time should guests arrive?

Answer

Our ceremony will begin promptly at 9:00 AM at San Francisco City Hall. Guests are kindly asked to arrive by 8:30 AM to allow time for security screening and to gather before the ceremony begins. All visitors must pass through a brief security check upon entry, so arriving a little early will help ensure everyone is comfortably settled before the ceremony starts.

Question

Where will the ceremony take place inside San Francisco City Hall?

Answer

Our ceremony will take place at the Fourth Floor Gallery inside San Francisco City Hall. After passing through security and entering the building, guests can make their way to the fourth floor where the ceremony will be held. If you have any difficulty locating us, City Hall staff are usually very helpful and can assist in directing guests to the gallery level.

Question

“What is the attire?”

Answer

Our ceremony will take place at San Francisco City Hall, so we encourage guests to wear elegant daytime or wedding-guest attire that feels comfortable for a morning celebration. Think polished and celebratory while still appropriate for daytime. To complement the beautiful marble setting, guests are welcome to wear soft, classic tones such as blues, lavender, purples, greens, or light neutrals. Some of the colors chosen for our day carry special meaning as a quiet tribute to loved ones who remain forever in our hearts.

Question

Will there be a celebration after the ceremony?

Answer

Yes. After the ceremony, we plan to continue the celebration with our guests over a celebratory brunch or lunch together. We are currently finalizing the details and will share additional information with invited guests soon.

Question

Where should we stay?

Answer

For guests traveling to San Francisco, we have reserved room blocks at the Grand Hyatt Union Square and Marker Union Square. Please visit the Travel page on our website for booking links and additional details. Guests are also welcome to explore other accommodations throughout the city that best fit their preferences. Both hotels are located in the Union Square area, which offers convenient access to San Francisco City Hall and many of the city’s attractions.

Question

Can I bring a guest?

Answer

Due to the intimate nature of our ceremony and celebration, attendance is limited to those listed on the invitation. We truly wish we could celebrate with everyone, but we are keeping this gathering small so we can share this special moment with our closest family and friends.

Question

What should we expect after the ceremony?

Answer

After the ceremony, we plan to spend some time taking photographs inside San Francisco City Hall and enjoying the moment with our loved ones. We look forward to continuing the celebration together afterward. Additional details regarding timing and location will be shared with guests as plans are finalized.

Question

What is the weather like in San Francisco in August?

Answer

San Francisco weather can be beautifully mild but also a bit unpredictable. While August is summertime, temperatures can vary throughout the day and may feel cool, especially in the morning or evening. We recommend dressing in layers and bringing a light jacket or wrap if needed. Comfortable walking shoes are also a good idea for guests planning to explore the city and enjoy its many neighborhoods and attractions.
