Our Love Story 🤍 From the very beginning, Alexander and Ashley grew up around each other — and a running joke among friends was that Ashley was “the girl next door,” even though she actually lived three blocks away from Alexander. The two shared the same memories of childhood hallways and classrooms, attending King Elementary and Saunders Middle School, surrounded by many mutual friends. But it wasn’t until high school at CD Hylton that their paths truly intertwined. Ashley was a freshman and Alexander a sophomore, both playing soccer. One day before a game, Alexander and his teammates were fooling around in the gym when the unexpected happened — he was hit square in the face with a soccer ball, and his glasses broke. Ashley happened to walk by, stopped to help him fix them, and made sure he was okay and ready to play. From that moment, Alexander was hooked. After the season ended, Alexander decided to take a chance. He slid into Ashley’s AIM and MySpace messages, and not long after, they began talking constantly. Although school was ending — with Alexander heading to North Carolina to stay with family and Ashley training hard for Taekwondo Nationals — their connection stayed strong. He got her phone number, and one night, Alexander finally asked Ashley out. They began dating, sharing a sweet and memorable chapter of young love. Life, as it often does, took them on different paths for a while. But years later, after Ashley graduated, the two reconnected — first as friends. What started as a simple friendship turned into a decade of laughter, support, and deep understanding. For ten years, they stood by each other through ups and downs, life changes, and growing into the people they were meant to be. Then one day, Alexander decided to take another chance — to ask Ashley if they could give their love story one more try. And this time, it was exactly where it was meant to be. Their friendship had laid the foundation for the beautiful relationship they share today — one full of faith, loyalty, and love. During the pandemic, Alexander and Ashley rescued their sweet pup, Brock Vision, from Arlington. Once a tiny seven‑week‑old rescue named Roland, he was renamed after their shared love of Pokémon — with “Vision” added by Aunt Amanda for the infinity‑stone‑shaped birthmark on his forehead. Brock has filled their lives with endless love and joy, bringing happiness to everyone he meets and even helping Alexander through his journey into fatherhood. He’s more than a dog — he’s family. Then arrived Brock’s first sibling & ATEAM’s greatest blessing came with the arrival of their daughter, Alice — a perfect reflection of their bond and the love they built over the years and their silver-lining of their lives. Together, they decided it was time to officially tie it all together. So, surrounded by love, with heartfelt vows spoken and God’s presence felt deeply, Alexander and Ashley eloped — ready to continue their journey as a family, hand in hand, heart to heart, and forever side by side. 🤍 Although they chose to elope, Alexander and Ashley plan to host a bigger celebration in the next couple of years to share their joy with all of their loved ones. the time will come soon for an incredible celebration filled with family, friends, and laughter. Until then, they’re deeply grateful for all the love, support, and sacrifice from everyone who’s been part of their journey. From the bottom of their hearts, they thank you — and can’t wait to celebrate this beautiful love story with you all in the near future.
