February 6th, 2022. Through the power of the internet Alexandria and Chris had “matched” on Bumble. At that time, Bumbles shtick was the woman could only send the first message after the match was made. Luckily for Chris, Alexandria did so, and dared to ask about his nerdiest hobby, D&D. The connection was immediate. After a brief time texting, Alexandria and Chris agreed to go on a proper date on February 7th, 2022. On their very first date, things didn’t go as exactly planned. The restaurant they wanted to go to was unknowingly closed so they had to pivot to last half of their plan and hang out at Coindexters. They sat down, ordered a few drinks, and unbeknownst to them, were swept away into a new chapter of their life. Alexandria and Chris talked for 6 hours straight that night. They were quickly falling for each other. Tragedy struck one week into dating. Chris’s father had suddenly passed. Knowing this, he called Alexandria and told her the news. Given it was only a week into them dating, he told her that if she didn’t want to stay given the situation that he would understand and respect her decision. “No, I’m here for the long haul” Alexandria said. Those words never left Chris. Over the next year and a half their love flourished as they found a home in each other. From playing video games and D&D, to excursions across all of Hawaii, to making life plans in Salem, MA, and watching Lord of The Rings in a literal hobbit hole, and they were always home. They knew what the next steps were and what the rest of their lives would look like on September 25, 2023, Chris proposed. Alexandria said yes. Over two years later, they’re both still in it for the long haul. The love they felt that cold winter night grew and will continue to grow in this life and the next.
