Our love story began on April 25th, 2022, with a simple swipe. Spero had just traveled home to Dyer to visit his family for Easter when fate stepped in. He encountered Astero through a social dating app, her catching his eye. When she saw him and that he was Greek as well, she too couldn’t resist swiping on him to talk. One match turned into endless conversation, and before long, we found ourselves on our first date at Tomato Bar. From that very first night, we felt like we had known each other forever. We talked for hours, discovering a shared love for our Greek roots, our families, and our dreams — along with plenty of fun differences that kept things exciting. From that day on, we were inseparable. In August of 2025, we traveled to Greece together — a trip that would change everything. While visiting Rhodes, the island where Astero had grown up for the first 10 years of her life, Spero led her to the top of a mountain to the monastery of Panagia Tsambika, known for blessing women with fertility and being a devout and sacred site for the island’s people and their Orthodox faith. With the breathtaking sea stretching behind them, he got down on one knee and asked Astero to be his forever. She said yes — and moments later, both of our families joined us to celebrate in the place where our hearts will always feel at home. Our story has been filled with love, laughter, and faith from the very beginning — and now, we can’t wait to begin the next chapter as husband and wife!
