Our Story

A Watchung Hills Warrior & a Bridgewater Panther walked into a Staten Island bagel store...

19 miles = The distance between the Jersey shore towns their families spent summers at. 14 miles = The distance between the football fields their rival high school teams played at. 11 miles = The distance between the hospitals where they were born. 6 miles = The distance between their childhood homes. 3 miles = The distance between their favorite diners. 10 yards = The distance between Harmon Discount, where Matt had his first job as a cashier & USA Karate Academy, the martial arts school Meg grew up at, owned by her mom, Patty. 12 feet = The distance between Meg & Matt where they sat in a circle with their floormates in the 8th floor common room of Harbor View Hall at Wagner College, on the first night of freshman orientation on August 22, 2013. Like every great love story, Meg & Matt’s began with a great friendship as they grew up together during their years at Wagner College. Immediately friends (despite Matt yelling "Bridgewater sucks!" at Meg during their freshman orientation icebreakers) they endured pledging Greek organizations together, shared many rides back to Jersey on winter breaks & long weekends, and endless late night bacon egg & cheeses. Living out a true Greek life fairy-tale, Meg & Matt both became Presidents of Alpha Sigma Alpha and Theta Chi, their respective Greek life organizations, and bonded very closely during their experiences. Meg's sorority sisters voted Matt to be their “Man of The Year" 3 years in a row, & Meg of course became a Theta Chi sweetheart. Through formals, philanthropy events, & one or two troublesome run-ins with Res-Ed on Saturday nights, they became the best of friends, and when the stars aligned, they realized that being a college power duo just wasn't enough, and that their friendship was truly just the foundation to a beautiful, lifelong love story.

The Proposal

Tale as old as time...

While on her spring break, Meg's family took a trip to Disney World to celebrate her mom's adoption of her two little sisters a few months prior. Matt was unable to join the vacation due to work, but when he found a gap in his schedule, he coordinated with Patty to plan a secret trip to Cinderella's castle, with two of Meg & his dear friends, and the ring in tow. He surprised Meg, pushing a stroller in a fanny pack and Minnie ears, on Main Street, where he forgot his well-rehearsed proposal speech, but got down on one knee and asked the question that would officially begin their lives together, proudly changing his title from Man of the Year, to Man of a Lifetime.

The Wedding

Who says you can't go home?

As two proud NJ residents, and Jersey shore lovers, we could not think of a better place to celebrate our special day than right outside of Atlantic City. Our rustic, fall-themed wedding will capture all of our favorite things, from our sunset ceremony overlooking the golf course, to cornhole games by the fire, and of course eating, drinking & dancing the night away with our closest family and friends. We look forward to celebrating with all of you, and opening the next chapter of our story together.
