ASRIEL'S PERSPECTIVE Have you ever heard the cliché, “You’ll find someone when you stop looking."? Well, that is our story. I met Chloe five months into a break from dating and, from my perspective, we became friends the moment we met. I remember thinking that I could see us being good friends but I didn't really think much else. A week later, I asked for her number so I could add her to our home group's groupchat. She gave me her number and we just started talking, all the time, and not about home group. Eventually we got coffee and then after that we properly hung out, got lunch, and something changed. I saw things in Chloe that I had been looking for all my life. Over the next few weeks, it become more and more clear to me that there was something special about this girl. A couple of weeks after that, I told her I wanted to date her. A few weeks after that, I told her I wanted her to be my girlfriend, and then six months after that, in Yosemite Valley, I asked her to marry me! And she said: "WHAT?!?... and then after four more "What!?!"s she said yes! CHLO'S PERSPECTIVE This is no love at first sight kind of story. Asriel and I met in passing in April but I'd say we connected during my first time leading worship at Genesis. He was funny. But that was it. Just funny. However, a little while later, he sat next to me at dinner after a worship night. Walking to the parking lot, I made a sassy remark about his car and he proceeded to insult me by saying my beloved RAV4 was orange. It was in that moment he decided to ask me for my number. A few weeks later, he invited me to coffee and I remember enjoying the time. I wondered if it would turn into something, but I wasn't sure yet. However, a few days later, we were together again. You see, I tried to plan a group hang and no one was free but Asriel so my group hang became, well, an us hang (it helped that I didn't actually ask other people...). That day, something shifted and it's been history ever since!
