FAQs

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Our wedding (all Saturday events) is an adults-only celebration, with the exception of our nieces and nephews in the wedding party and any nursing infants. Kids are welcome at Friday Welcome Drinks and Sunday Farewell Brunch.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Attire for the wedding is Black-tie Optional. Long dresses and gowns, tuxedoes or formal suits Feel free to have fun with it, go glam, and get ready to party!

Question

What's the weather like? Will we be outdoors?

Answer

London weather is capricious in May! The weather could range from warm and sunny to chilly and rainy, depending on the day. We recommend keeping an eye on the weather forecast. Even on warm days, those wearing dresses should bring a shawl or light jacket, as London gets chilly in the evenings year-round. All our wedding events are indoors, with the exception of brief walks (1-5 min) on the Syon grounds (well-packed dirt/gravel, no grass) between event spaces. If it does end up raining on the day, we recommend bringing an umbrella, which can be stored in the cloakroom (coat check) upon arrival.

Question

Is there parking at the venue?

Answer

There is a large parking lot at Syon House. Upon arrival, please follow the signs for the parking lot. The parking lot also serves the Hilton (recommended hotel). Syon management recommends you keep all luggage and personal items out of sight, in your car trunk/boot.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

As the hotel and venue are very close to each other, there is not official transportation between them. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns about getting to the venue, and it will be our pleasure to help. By foot: The wedding venue, Syon House, is just across the parking lot from the recommended hotel, Hilton Syon Park, about 500 metres / 0.3 miles walking. By transit: Syon House is a 10-minute walk from the Syon Lane (Stop W) bus stop and a 20-minute walk from the Syon Lane national rail train station. By taxi: Guests arriving by taxi can be dropped off at the front gate of Syon House. Those with special mobility needs can be driven straight to the front door (please notify security at the front gate upon arrival, and they will let you through). By car: Guests driving to the venue can park in the Syon House parking lot. Syon management recommends you keep all luggage and personal items out of sight, in your car trunk/boot.

Question

Do you have hotel recommendations?

Answer

We recommend the Hilton Syon Park. Located on the grounds of Syon House and just a short walk across the parking lot to our venue, the Hilton is also the location of our Sunday Farewell Brunch and the Lobby Bar where we can keep the party going on Saturday night. https://www.londonsyonpark.com/

Question

How much walking will there be?

Answer

There will be minimal walking on our wedding day. There is a 1-2-minute walk from the Syon House entry gate to the ceremony hall and a 5-minute walk from the ceremony to the reception, both outdoors on well-packed gravel. If you have special mobility needs, please let us know by the 1st of April, and we will arrange golf carts and other convenient solutions to ensure you can celebrate with us comfortably.
