We met in Bullfrog, Utah, where we had both moved to do seasonal work. It’s not exactly the place you expect to find the love of your life, but it’s where our story started—between the desert landscape and dormitory life. Our first real interaction was at an employee party. Aspyn had a little too much to drink, and Will, being the kind soul he is, offered to walk her home. The next morning, he checked in to make sure she was alive—which, frankly, was a valid concern. About a week later, Will got moved into the dorm next to Aspyn. Whether that was luck or some sort of dorm-room matchmaking program, we’ll never know, but it gave us plenty of opportunities to get to know each other. From there, things just clicked. What started as a random meeting in the middle of nowhere turned into the best thing either of us could have imagined.
