It all started back in February 2013 at Central Michigan University. Kathryn—also known as “Kitty”—was celebrating her 21st birthday with a party that Nate got invited to through a friend of a friend. Allegedly, we met at that party (though details are a bit fuzzy), and eventually, we became friends. For years, we stayed in touch—catching up here and there, with plenty of funny stories along the way—until 2018, when we realized there might be more to our story. Our first official date was a Red Wings game on November 26, 2018. A few months later, we moved in together—Nate and his new puppy Max joining Kitty and her dog Gus in what quickly became a house full of personality (and dog hair). Over the next six years, we built a life together. We traveled, laughed endlessly, and made so many memories with the people (and pups) we love most. Eventually, we moved back to Kathryn’s childhood home, setting the stage for the next chapter of our story. On December 20, 2024, Nate proposed in the most fitting way—on the jumbotron at a Red Wings game, bringing things full circle from our first date. Now, here we are, planning to celebrate with all of you on September 26, 2025. We can’t wait to share this day with the family and friends who have been part of our journey so far!
