Our Story began in 2015. Asif had recently moved to Michigan to begin his new job at Trinity Health, and Kiran had recently been accepted to Manchester University College of Pharmacy in Indiana. Years before, Asif and Kiran met through mutual friends and later became friends themselves. They rekindled their friendship when Asif moved to Michigan. While being in a new state, he became friends with Kiran’s cousin who also lived in Michigan at the time. Little did he know she was her cousin. As Kiran was planning on moving to Indiana, she decided to pay a visit to her cousin. While she was visiting, she met Asif after so many years. The two of them clicked and the rest is history.

On a hot summer day in the summer of 2016, Kiran was visiting Asif before her 2nd year of pharmacy school. She wanted to have a relaxing weekend before the start of her busy semester. Asif told Kiran that they would be attending a house warming party. Asif couldn’t think of another excuse and Kiran didn’t think much into it. Prior to leaving for the party, Kiran noticed that Asif was dressed up, so she decided dress up too! Instead of arriving at a house, they ended up at the beautiful Belle Isle in downtown Detroit. They got out of the car and walked towards the lake. Kiran was confused as to why they were strolling on this island instead of going to the house party. As Kiran and Asif walked up to the Belle Isle Fountain, they saw their friends holding a “will you marry me?” sign. Without hesitation, Kiran quickly turned around and found Asif on his knee, as he asked her to be his wife. On June 29th, we will be celebrating the next chapter of their lives in Dallas, TX!
