Nothing crazy Just love

We met on an app called Bumble — risky, we know! But from the very beginning, there was something about him that just felt safe. After messaging for a couple of days, we planned our first date: a Don’t Tell Comedy show. But I (Asia) started feeling a little nervous… maybe even a bit flaky. So, I asked if we could meet sooner — and he said yes without hesitation. He suggested grabbing a drink at a small bar first, just to break the ice before heading to the movies. I agreed, but the nerves were real. I even called my best friend Summer to talk me out of it — luckily, she didn’t answer! I stood in the doorway for about five minutes before finally working up the courage to walk in. His back was turned, but somehow I just knew it was him. And as soon as we started talking, the nerves disappeared. He bought me a drink, we laughed and talked so easily, and then we headed to Cinema Café to watch Civil War — which is still one of my favorite movies to this day. At the end of the night, he kindly walked me to my car — and in a bold (but respectfully)move, kissed me goodnight (with my full consent). From that moment on, we just knew something special had started

I (Asia) had a whole plan. A well-thought-out, meaningful, romantic plan. I had most of what I needed and had even talked it through with Jacob and Summer, who were both super excited. The idea was to wait until December and propose during a movie date — just like our very first one. But somewhere along the way, the anxiety kicked in. I couldn’t stop thinking about it, and the idea of waiting that long started to feel impossible. So in May… I kind of panicked — in a good way! I decided to move the whole plan up. The new plan was basically the same, just earlier. We’d go to the movies, and I’d have Jacob take a photo of us. In that moment, I’d casually pull out the ring and ask something subtle, something sweet. And we were actually on our way to the movies when I decided to do it. Everything was falling into place — or at least it was supposed to. But Will (without even knowing) kind of sabotaged it. Not on purpose, of course! Just little things that made the original setup harder and harder to pull off. Meanwhile, my nerves were building, and I was trying so hard to act normal. Eventually, outside of their grandparents’ house — in a moment that wasn’t planned at all — I just went for it. I pulled out the ring and proposed right there. It wasn’t the grand moment I imagined, but honestly, it was perfect. That house already meant a lot, and now it holds an even more special memory. And the surprise? 100% real. It was hard keeping the secret, but the way it all turned out felt exactly right.

While Asia had already popped the question in her own sweet (and slightly chaotic) way, Will had been secretly planning a proposal of his own — and somehow, she had no idea. He had been quietly gathering things and figuring out the right moment, while Asia unintentionally gave him little windows to make plans without even realizing it. The opportunity came when they were heading up to Maryland to see one of their favorite artists, Key Glock, in concert. They had planned to stop by her aunt’s restaurant to meet up with a few cousins and hang out for a bit before the show. Seemed simple enough — at least to Asia. The whole drive up, she was completely oblivious. They were vibing out to music, just enjoying the ride — all while Will had a ring tucked away in his pocket the entire time. When they got to the restaurant, Asia was finishing getting dressed for the concert outside the car, so they’d be ready to head out right after eating. As she got out of the car, Will walked up to her — which wasn’t totally unusual, but it was enough of a switch-up to catch her attention. Her back was turned at first, but when she turned around… there he was — down on one knee, asking her to marry him. Pretty sure she nearly had a mental breakdown (in the best way possible). Completely surprised, totally overwhelmed — and of course, she said yes
