Our story started freshman year of college, when one of Vimla’s childhood friends decided to play matchmaker. One day, he randomly video called her, saying he had found her dream man. She laughed, assumed he was joking, and then Ashton popped up on the screen and said, “You don’t think I’m cute?” Vimla immediately hung up, which is not exactly how most love stories start. Not long after that, we met in person through that same friend. Vimla’s sister went to school right across from Ashton, and one evening, while Vimla was getting ready to head home with her, we were introduced face to face. The same guy who had been so confident on FaceTime turned red and quiet in person, but once we started talking, everything felt easy. We stood there talking and laughing for a while, and as Vimla was getting ready to leave, Ashton said, “You’re really going to leave without saving my number?” She saved it, and that was the start of everything. From there, a random video call turned into long conversations, dates, and years of growing up together. Somewhere between college classes, late-night talks, road trips, and all the in-between moments, we found a home in each other. Since then, life has taken us to new places, new milestones, and even new countries, but no matter where we go, the best part has always been getting to do it together. Now, with passports ready, hearts full, and a lifetime ahead of adventures ahead, we can’t wait to begin the greatest trip of all… forever, together.
