We're Getting Married!!

Paris and Ashton met their freshmen year at LCU. The crazy thing is that they're both from Lafayette, la. Both of their highschools, Lafayette Christan and Vermilion Catholic, were huge rivals. They met during wildcat welcome week. This was when the freshmen class was split into different groups. Throughout the week, each specific group would complete activities to get them familiar with the campus and their freshmen class. They spent the entire week together, getting to know one another, because it was required by the group leader. After wildcat welcome week, Paris and Ashton spent everyday together. They talked for about 4 months. During these 4 months, they got to know one another more, and had the chance to meet one another’s families. They spent late nights together, outside of their dorm buildings talking till 2am, with early morning class the next morning. So many happy moments were made, November 15, 2018 is when Ashton asked Paris to be his girlfriend. As time went on, they have grown into one and have pushed each other to be the best they can possibly be. On their first year anniversary, is when Ashton gave Paris a promise ring. He made a promise to always be by her side and to make her his wife one day. Fast forward a couple years, Ashton decided to propose on Christmas Day at his parents house. The day of their proposal was the best day ever and Paris will never be able to thank Ashton, his parents, and her parents for making it happen. There was so much joy and laughter and it couldn't have gone any better. Now their building a great life together, living together, and raising their animal children. (Hector and Tanka). They are so blessed to have their families and friends on their side to love and support them. They cannot wait to embark on this new journey in life, together.

Ashton graduated with a degree in criminal justice, went through police academy for 14 weeks and is now a police officer for Alexandria Police Department. This has been his primary goal, since he was a freshmen. Paris finished her bachelor's, graduates with her masters in May 2023, and will be on the road to get her Ph.D from ULM. She is now a high-school teacher and volleyball coach. Once they both started working after graduating, they decided to buy a house! Things are going well for them and couldn't be any better!

To Our Parents: Thank you for continuing to guide us down the right path in life. The continuing support that we have had from all of you has helped us get to where we are today. You have shaped us into the best version of ourselves, and you have taught us life learning lessons that we will use forever. We can't wait to see what this new journey has in store for us, as we build our lives together.
