We Eloped!

One Sunday last October, Lindsay twisted Ashton's arm to go for a trail ride. It was a beautiful fall day before Halloween (Lindsay's birthday). Lindsay knew Ashton would go along since it was her birthday weekend. They saddled up Nelson and Tenma and rode out onto the 600+ acre Painted Springs Farm. Lindsay showed off and galloped away on Nelson leaving Ashton and Tenma in the dust. Tenma was excited to go after them but Ashton said, "NO SIR!" Lindsay knew it would excite Tenma and give Ashton a test that she probably didn't appreciate! Lindsay rode back and tamed her shenanigans, and they continued on the bridlepaths through the creek and up the hills. When they neared the pond before heading back into the stables, Lindsay said Let's stop and see if there's any frogs out," knowing well Ashton would be distracted looking for tiny creatures in the pond. Ashton said, "It's too late in the year for frogs!" Lindsay had to change her plan and suggested allowing the horses to graze before heading back to the stables. Lindsay snuck a blue velvet ring box out of her saddle bag while Ashton was looking over the water. Ashton turned around and Lindsay had gotten down on one knee and proposed! Ashton, definitely surprised, said "YES!".
