How we met

Our cheesy story

We began talking in November 2018, when Josh slid into my Facebook DMs. The message that started it all "I could have told you a cheesy pick up line, but instead I will tell you I think you are cute". To me that was fate, because when Josh had sent that message, I was in the middle of a conversation with my mom in the car talking about the type of guy I should date-and she suggested a guy in the military. I had looked at Josh's profile picture, and saw his uniform and if that is not a sign from the universe I don't know what is. So naturally I took a hint and began talking to him. We talked for about a month before I met him in person around Christmas. I had never been so nervous to meet someone in my life. I had to call my best friend in the car outside his house, until she talked me into having the courage to go in to meet him. Josh and I dated a short while, but life was busy, with him just returning from basic training and catching up with friends and family, so we naturally went our separate ways. The universe was not ready for us to spilt ways though, because a year or so later, Josh and I kept running into each other every time we went out to one of our favorite hangout spots. We began talking and became fast friends again. Literally-I had been friend zoned. Josh and I spent every evening together for 2 years having dinners, going out with our friends, having nights in, before I finally got up the courage to tell him to ask me out. February 16, 2021 we began our relationship. He told me later he was nervous to date me because he didn't want our friendship to change. Little did he know that was the best thing I had him do, as 5 years later, I still can't believe I get to call my best friend my fiancé.
