FAQs

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

We recommend staying in Charleston's Historic District to be close to all wedding weekend events. Please visit our Travel page for hotel recommendations and booking information.

Question

Where is the nearest airport?

Answer

Charleston International Airport (CHS) is approximately 20–30 minutes from downtown Charleston by car or rideshare.

Question

Will there be transportation?

Answer

Transportation will not be provided, as all wedding events are located in downtown Charleston. We encourage guests to stay nearby in the Historic District, where most locations are within walking distance or a quick rideshare away. Charleston is a wonderfully walkable city, and we hope you'll enjoy exploring it throughout the weekend!

Question

What is the attire for the Welcome Event?

Answer

Garden Party Attire: Think polished yet relaxed, with lightweight fabrics perfect for a summer evening in Charleston. Garden party dresses, skirts with a dressy top, light button-downs, sport coats, and suits are all welcome.

Question

What is the attire for the Ceremony & Reception?

Answer

Summer Formal Attire: Think polished and elevated, with breathable fabrics perfect for an August evening in Charleston. Floor-length or midi-length dresses are encouraged, while tuxedos are optional and both lighter suits and classic dark tones are equally welcome. Ties are entirely your choice.

Question

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Our ceremony and reception will take place at the William Aiken House. Portions of the evening will be outdoors, so we recommend planning accordingly for Charleston's late-summer weather.

Question

Are kids allowed?

Answer

While we cherish your kiddos, we’ve chosen to make our wedding an adults-only celebration so everyone can fully relax and enjoy the evening.

Question

Please Note

Answer

King Street is closed to through traffic on Friday evenings as part of Charleston's pedestrian zone program. If you're driving or using a rideshare, please allow a little extra time and plan accordingly.
