Ashton and Chloe met for the first time December 8th, 2017 at a Fraternity/Sorority social while competing to build the best gingerbread house. While opening a peppermint with a tad too much force, Ashton flung it into the chair of the opponent directly next to him. It just so happened to be occupied by Chloe, and the peppermint had unfortunately flown down the seat of the chair, and landed against her butt. With a first interaction as goofy as that, you'd think she would've remembered him when he reconnected a few months later. But alas, she was reintroduced at a group bowling outing the following March, and they officially started dating May 12th, 2018.

In college, there was a park at the back of campus that had a pond. Often I went there to escape the noise of campus, or the stress of exams. I only took Chloe there a few times, but it was where I realized I loved her. On October 7th, 2022, we went back for a picnic before homecoming, and I asked her to marry me - exactly 4 years after the first time I said "I love you".
