We're Getting Married!

We first met way back in middle school, just two kids crossing paths here and there, never really knowing what the future had in store for us. We’d talk occasionally—small conversations, passing moments—but nothing that hinted at what was coming. It wasn’t until later in high school that everything truly began. I was a sophomore, hanging out at a friend’s house one day, and we were both craving Taco Bell in the worst way. There was just one problem—we were completely broke. No change under the couch cushions, no forgotten bills in our backpacks. We started joking around, trying to come up with ridiculous ways to get our hands on just seven dollars. That’s all we needed for a Crunchwrap and a Baja Blast—simple dreams, right? That’s when my friend mentioned Braxten. She told me he had just gotten a job at Baskin Robbins. It sounded promising, so we did what any hungry teenagers would do—we called him up. Actually, begged might be a more accurate word. We pleaded with him for a loan—just seven dollars, we promised—but he kindly turned us down. No Taco Bell, but something better happened that day. What started as a silly call turned into hours of conversation. And then more the next day. And the next. Before I knew it, Braxten was becoming someone I couldn’t stop thinking about. I was falling—fast and hard—for this boy on the other end of the phone. The first time we finally hung out in person, I couldn’t hold it in. I looked at this sweet, slightly awkward, 15-year-old kid with wide eyes and a kind heart, and I told him—I loved him. His face was priceless. You could see the fear flash across his eyes, like he had no idea what to do with those three words. But looking back now, I think he knew, deep down, that something real had just started. Since that day, life hasn’t always been easy. We’ve weathered our share of storms, grown up together, and faced challenges we never saw coming. But through it all, we never let go of each other.
