This is the closest airport. It is small, but that makes for quick check ins and is easy to navigate. Eagle Rock is 40 minutes north of Roanoke airport. Covington is 1hr 15min north of Roanoke airport. Times may vary by 10-15 minutes due to a 24/7 road work zone. There are many hotels close to the airport.

This rental place has the best rating of three next to Roanoke airport. There are many more rental locations in Roanoke that might be better. If getting a rental car we recommend one that can handle gravel roads. The road to the venue is gravel and the road at the venue is dirt. If there is heavy rain the venue road may have pot holes. Hans' little Saturn can handle it, so it's not that bad.

An Air BnB is a great option for those wishing to stay closer to Covington VA (where we live) especially for those wishing to stay in a group with friends or family. If you are bringing children this option can offer yard space for them to get their energy out.

We stayed here almost 3 years ago when we first moved to Virginia. The beds were comfy and the room was clean. They offer a hot complementary breakfast. If you notice a musty or wet garbage smell, that is the probably the paper mill. Sorry. This hotel is close to a few restaurants including San-Juan's and The Rail. Or you can drive further into town for other options.

Great option for those flying in and staying a few nights or for those who prefer to stay in a city. Reviews seem to be good and they are now serving breakfast. Easy on off access to I81. Roanoke Airport is approximately 15 minutes away.
